Uber is applying its successful bus shuttle service in India and Egypt to the US market.

This service will launch this summer in select cities, initially serving airport pick-ups, sporting events, and music events.

Instead of using individual drivers as usual, Uber will cooperate with local transport units that have a team of professional drivers to operate buses and vans from 14 to 55 seats.

According to Uber, the application of this model in the US will be different from developing markets. The reason is because the public transportation infrastructure in the US is quite good and people are familiar with using personal cars. However, Uber Shuttle will target specific customer segments, such as sports-goers who want to drink beer comfortably or need an economical way to get to the airport.

Uber Shuttle’s biggest challenge is determining the exact pick-up and drop-off location and appropriate time. To solve this problem, Uber will leverage its massive data warehouse to predict passenger traffic from airports, stadiums and event venues.

Specifically, Uber will partner with entertainment company Live Nation to provide bus transportation for audiences to concerts at several locations in Pittsburgh, Charlotte and Chicago. In addition, Uber Shuttle will also cooperate with Hard Rock Stadium in Miami to serve events such as F1 racing, Miami Crypto.com Grand Prix…

Airport shuttle service will launch later, specific time has not been disclosed

With Uber Shuttle , passengers can reserve one seat or up to five seats on the bus to the airport or event at a fraction of the price of UberX. Uber Shuttle fares will not be affected by surge pricing.

Customers can make reservations from 7 days to 5 minutes before departure time. Uber will notify you 25 minutes in advance of the exact pick-up location. When the bus arrives, passengers just need to scan the QR code to board. Experience a journey similar to a regular Uber ride, with driver evaluation and reward functions after the end of the trip.

In addition to Uber Shuttle, Uber also introduced a number of other ride-hailing and delivery services, such as carpooling and delivery from the wholesale store Costco. Uber says the main theme of this year’s Go-Get event is “engagement,” but it appears the real focus is on cost savings. All products introduced, including the Uber One student deal for $4.99/month ($48/year), are aimed at providing users with more economical options. for travel and deliveries.
