From now on, the social network once known as Twitter has officially used X.com for all core systems. This means that access to twitter.com will redirect to X.com, as expected by owner Elon Musk. However, this transition is currently not smooth, depending on the browser you use and whether you are logged in or not.
On the X.com login page there is now a message: “We’re changing the URL, but your privacy and data security settings will remain the same.”
This is one of the most troubling aspects of Elon Musk’s rebranding plan. While many elements of has remained the same as twitter.com since Musk officially began the transition.

The actual URL migration began last August, when some The Verge staffers were able to copy the X.com link from the sharing feature in the X app on iOS. Cybersecurity expert Brian Krebs said this clumsy transition facilitates phishing attacks.
Mr. Musk has a long relationship with URL x.com. He founded a business of the same name in 1999, which later merged into PayPal. Musk hopes this modern version will become a multi-purpose “super application” like WeChat.
Maybe so, but one thing’s for sure: It’s not Twitter anymore.
