Microsoft has just introduced Team Copilot, a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool to more effectively support teamwork in large companies and corporations.
Unlike previous AI Copilot products, Team Copilot doesn’t just focus on a specific task but a comprehensive set of features that help “improve collaboration” and “make project management easier.”
According to Mr. Jared Spataro , Executive Vice President of AI at Microsoft, Team Copilot will “liberate” work teams, helping them increase productivity and creativity by automating time-consuming administrative tasks and expense.
Team Copilot integrates with Teams, Microsoft’s online meeting application, supporting meeting agenda and note management, allowing everyone in the meeting to participate in editing. In group chats, Team Copilot has the ability to summarize information (hopefully accurately) and answer questions related to what was discussed.
Not just stopping at Teams, Team Copilot also expands to Loop and Planner, Microsoft’s planning and collaboration platforms. This tool can create and assign tasks, track progress, and notify team members when their input is needed. In Planner, Team Copilot also helps break down large tasks into specific steps, and answers questions about each member’s progress, priority, and workload.
Microsoft said Team Copilot features will be available in trial later this year for customers with Copilot for Microsoft 365 licenses, starting at $30 per user per month.
