After the iPhone X launched with an OLED screen and Face ID in 2017, the iPhone’s design has not changed much significantly. However, according to The Information, Apple is planning a big change with the new “Slim” iPhone line. Expected to launch in 2025 as part of the iPhone 17 update, the phone could cost even more than the iPhone Pro Max – Apple’s current most expensive model.
Rumors say that the iPhone 17 will have a newer design with a more compact Dynamic Island “rabbit ears”. Besides, this year’s iPhone 16 size is also rumored to increase and have a new power button. Meanwhile, the “Slim” iPhone will have a 6.6-inch screen, between the 6.1-inch size of the regular version and the 6.9-inch size of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Some other sources predict this size to be 6.55 inches.
According to The Information, Apple is still considering many different designs for this high-end model. Aluminum frame, more compact front camera and centrally placed rear camera cluster are some of the factors being considered by the company. Additionally, previous rumors of a power density upgrade for the iPhone 16 Pro Max could also have an impact. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that if the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s stainless steel battery case design is successful, it could be applied to all models by 2025.
This information comes after Apple launched its new slim iPad Pro, which has passed impressive durability tests. Hopefully a thinner iPhone will achieve the same thing so that users can easily carry it in their pockets or bags.
