GPD Company, famous for its handheld gaming computers and portable mini PCs, is now shifting its focus to producing regular-sized laptops. After revealing a dual-screen laptop model last week, GPD has just officially released images of the upcoming GPD Duo – with highlights of two 13.3-inch OLED screens, multiple connection ports and pen support. stylus.

While many new dual-screen laptops appeared last year, the GPD Duo seems to be the most practical design. The GPD stacks two 13.3-inch OLED screens so you have an extra screen on top. This is similar to the new Asus Zenbook Duo, but GPD aims to do away with the separate keyboard and kickstand, so the secondary screen can fold behind the main screen, creating a conventional laptop form factor.

The secondary screen on the GPD Duo can also fold down into a tablet form, supporting a stylus. “When folded, the device is about the size of an A4 sheet of paper, and when both screens are fully extended, it measures 18 inches,” GPD said. The screen supports 10-point touch, pen pressure sensitivity is 4096 levels and is compatible with Surface Pen thanks to Microsoft Pen Protocol.

Leaked images show that the GPD Duo will have many connection ports, including an Ethernet port, an OcuLink port to connect to the eGPU, at least two USB ports and a memory card slot. The GPD also features a full-sized keyboard and regular trackpad, unlike the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i which comes with a separate Bluetooth keyboard that must be placed on the secondary screen.

It is currently unclear which processor will be used on the GPD Duo. There’s only vague information about 35 watts of power consumption and that this will be an “AI PC”, but there’s no mention of whether this will be the new Copilot Plus PC with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chip. With Computex coming up in just a week, hopefully we’ll have more information about the GPD Duo soon.
