Apple is about to launch its first folding screen device in late 2025, early 2026.
According to the latest news, Apple may introduce two folding screen devices in the first half of 2026. This information is quite consistent with previous rumors about launching a folding tablet in late 2025 or early 2026.
Currently, Apple is developing two versions of folding devices with screen sizes of 20.25 inches and 18.8 inches respectively. When folded, the size will reduce to 14 – 15 inches and 13 – 14 inches.
A special feature of these devices is that the folding screen will not have a crease in the middle, providing a more seamless experience. However, due to the use of this type of screen and high-end hinges, production costs will also be much higher. Estimated price for the screen alone is 600 – 650 USD and the hinge is 200 – 250 USD.
LG provides the screen to Apple, while the hinges are provided by Amphenol.
In terms of performance, both folding devices are equipped with the M5 chip developed by Apple.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that, given the high price, Apple’s first folding device will likely cost the same as the current Vision Pro, starting at $3,499. However, due to its newness and uniqueness, sales of this product are expected to be higher than Vision Pro, reaching about 1 million units.
