Sony launches PSVR 2 adapter with PC support
PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset users will soon be able to use the device with a computer. According to sources revealed by Brad Lynch, a VR enthusiast, Sony has developed a PSVR 2 “adapter” that allows connection to PC, going beyond just the PS5.
Last February, Sony mentioned PC support for PSVR2, expected to be released in 2024 but did not reveal the form of implementation. The adapter’s certification filed with Korean regulators on March 27 shows that Sony is on track to meet its self-imposed PC support deadline.
Currently, there are no details about this adapter, including price, appearance or specific release date. We’ve reached out to Sony for clarification and will update the news if we receive a response.

However, the existence of the adapter is a welcome sign for the modding community that has been working to connect the PSVR2 to gaming computers since the product’s launch in 2023. PSVR2’s price of 549.99 USD is higher than the launch price of PS5 (499.99 USD), making its use only on Sony consoles controversial.
PC support could remove one of the biggest barriers keeping users away from the device. This information comes in a context where Sony is facing difficulties due to declining interest, even temporarily stopping production of PSVR2 due to a large inventory of unsold products.
