According to OpenAI, paid ChatGPT users will no longer need to download data files from Google Drive or OneDrive. Instead, they can feed the file directly into the chatbot for analysis. This feature will help users save time because they no longer have to download and upload again.
ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, and Teams users simply need to grant Google Drive or OneDrive account access to the chatbot. OpenAI says this integration helps ChatGPT read Excel, Word, PowerPoint and similar Google formats faster. Currently, this advanced data analytics feature is only available on GPT-4o, the improved and faster version of GPT-4 – the basis for the paid version of the chatbot.
OpenAI also improves ChatGPT’s ability to understand data sets based on natural language instructions. Users can ask the chatbot to run Python code to analyze, merge or filter data, and create charts from information in the file.
Previously, ChatGPT was able to create charts according to user requests. However, now, this feature is upgraded to be more powerful with interactive capabilities. Thanks to this, users can easily explore data more intuitively and effectively.

With this new feature, users can not only view charts but also interact with them. For example, you can zoom in and out, change the way data is displayed (like change color, add captions), and even ask questions about specific data points. Currently, ChatGPT supports creating interactive charts for popular chart types such as column, line, pie and square charts. For other chart types not yet supported, ChatGPT provides a static version.
OpenAI emphasized in the blog post that it will not train AI models from data uploaded by ChatGPT Enterprise and Teams users, and ChatGPT Plus users can opt out of training.
