Sony has just launched Xperia 1 VI, the sixth generation of high-end phones, targeting photography lovers, competing with iPhone and Pixel. The strengths of the device include true optical zoom, AI-powered autofocus and versatile camera applications.
The back of the Xperia 1 VI has three cameras: a 24mm main camera with a 48-megapixel Sony Exmor T sensor, a 16mm ultra-wide-angle camera and a telephoto zoom camera that can change the focal length of 85-170mm, providing magnification of about 3.5 to 7.1 times. compared to the main camera. This telephoto camera is also used for macro photography.
Another highlight is the “human pose estimation” AI technology. Thanks to this technology, the camera can automatically focus and track the subject’s body and head position more accurately, helping users easily take high-quality photos and videos.
In addition, the Alpha 7R V is also equipped with a 61MP high-resolution image sensor, allowing 4K HDR 120fps video recording with many advanced color modes such as S-Cinetone. The camera also integrates all video recording and photography features into a single application, making operations easier and more convenient for users.
Sony equips the Xperia 1 VI with the most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip set today along with 12GB of RAM, ensuring outstanding performance for all tasks from basic to advanced. The device has two storage capacity options of 256GB and 512GB, allowing you to comfortably store your favorite photos, videos and applications.
The next highlight is the 5000mAh battery, which Sony commits to providing up to 2 days of use. Xperia 1 VI also supports 15W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging for other devices, extremely convenient for daily use.
Sony Xperia 1 VI has a number of changes compared to its predecessor Xperia 1 V, in addition to the camera cluster. The device’s screen now has a resolution of 2220 x 1080 instead of 4K, the size is reduced from 7.1 inches to 6.5 inches and the aspect ratio changes from 21:9 to a more compact 19.5:9. However, the highlight is that this OLED screen has a refresh rate that can flexibly change from 1Hz to 120Hz, providing a smoother and more battery-efficient experience. Sony also said that the maximum brightness of the Xperia 1 II screen is 50% higher than that of the Xperia 1 V, promising better visibility under strong sunlight.
In terms of design, the device is almost identical to the previous version, with three colors: black, silver and moss green. The device retains a dedicated camera button and 3.5mm headphone jack (rare on high-end phones these days), but Sony says the new “full-stage” speakers also have improved “bass and clarity.” definition and volume” for those who don’t want to plug in headphones.
Unlike previous versions of the Xperia 1 series, Sony has confirmed that the Xperia 1 VI will not be sold in the US market. However, users in the UK and Europe can pre-order the device with prices starting at £1,299 (about $1,640) for the UK market and €1,399 for the European market. The device is expected to be delivered on June 6.
